The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Bleecker Street (Jules, The Art of Self-Defense) will distribute director Gabriela Cowperthwaite's (Blackfish, Megan Leavey) sci-fi thriller I.S.S., in the U.S.

The film stars Ariana DeBose (Hamilton, Kraven the Hunter), Chris Messina (The Mindy Project, Six Feet Under), Pilou Asbæk (Overlord, Ghost in the Shell) and John Gallagher Jr. (Short Term 12, 10 Cloverfield Lane).

The film also stars Costa Ronin and Maria Mashkova.

I.S.S. previously had its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival (formerly known as the Tribeca Film Festival) back in June.

Coming out of the festival, reviews for the film were predominately positive, with Deadline stating:

"I.S.S. undeniably demonstrates a commitment to building tension to create an engaging story that holds the attention — it’s definitely a journey worth taking for the visual experience and the steady-paced suspense."

The film follows six astronauts who are in space, aboard the International Space Station as they conduct research. There are three American astronauts and three Russian astronauts who all get along amicably until war breaks out back on Earth between the U.S. and Russia.

The fight back home affects the ongoings on the space station when each group of astronauts are commanded to take control of it, no matter the cost.

Nick Shafir penned the script.

There's no U.S. release date just yet so stay tuned for future updates.

Orbiting the planet aboard the International Space Station, two crews of scientists conduct research towards the betterment of humanity. Soon, however, international tensions on Earth escalate in unpredictable ways. With little information relayed from command centers, the teams find themselves reeling as they receive the same orders: take control of the station at any cost.
