Vin Diesel announced that a fourth Riddick movie was officially in the works back in 2019, but updates have been few and far between since. Now, the Fast X actor has taken to Instagram to share the first official concept art for Furya.

The designs feature a rather intimidating-looking character (possibly a fellow Furyan) and Richard B. Riddick himself leaping into action.

Director David Twohy is expected to return to helm Furya. Plot details are still a mystery, but given the title, we assume that the story will at least partially play out on Riddick's home planet.

Though these movies are clearly passion projects for Diesel, it's worth noting that only 2000's Pitch Black proved to be a success - and that was at least partially down to its lower budget.

Sequel The Chronicles of Riddick poured a lot more money into VFX in an attempt to launch a new sci-fi blockbuster franchise, but the movie failed to connect with audiences or critics. 2013's Riddick (who names these bloody things?) did do slightly better, however, so perhaps there is a market for another instalment.
