Hulu has released two, short new promos for Predator: Killer of Killers ahead of its June release.
Breaking from the traditional format of past Predator films, Killer of Killers will unfold across three separate storylines, each set in a different historical era. Instead of one continuous narrative, the animated feature will explore how various human warriors from different time periods face off against the deadly Yautja, offering a fresh perspective on the franchise’s iconic hunters.
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (Prey, 10 Cloverfield Lane) and penned by Micho Robert Rutare (Z Nation), the film will premiere on Hulu starting June 6. Animation duties are handled by The Third Floor, a studio renowned for its previsualization work on major Lucasfilm projects.
The voice cast includes Lindsay LaVanchy, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Rick Gonzalez, and sci-fi veteran Michael Biehn.
Despite being animated, Killer of Killers has earned an R rating, promising the intense violence and mature storytelling fans expect from the Predator universe.
Although Killer of Killers expands the Predator universe, director Dan Trachtenberg has made it clear that the film is a standalone story, not simply a launchpad for future installments.
Trachtenberg also confirmed that the film is not a direct follow-up to Prey, the film builds on similar themes by exploring the Yautja’s long-standing fascination with Earth and its formidable human adversaries across different time periods.
After the success of Prey, Trachtenberg worked on Killer of Killers and Predator: Badlands (which provides a unique twist for the franchise, where the Predator is the protagonist), simultaneously.
Predator Killer of Killers Official Synopsis: The anthology story follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. But while all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent – the ultimate killer of killers.
