Set in the not-to-distant future, in Project Gemini humanity has made tremendous advances in its explorations of space, establishing scientific stations on a wide variety of planets. Gemini, an international project, has developed what is considered to be a unique means of terraforming a planet. The unit is launched, and shortly thereafter, Earth loses contact with the carrier rocket that was transporting it to a place outside the solar system.

After some time has passed, a group of astrophysicists abruptly begin picking up a mysterious signal from space. Indications are that it originates on a remote and at that point uncharted planet. The power of this signal is such that it begins creating irregularities in our environment. As a result, an expedition is sent out to that planet and whatever awaits them. This group will undertake events that are both dramatic and tragic in their effort to save Earth from this threat.
