AHSOKA Just Tied Itself To THE MANDALORIAN's Purge Of Mandalore With A Shocking Revelation - SPOILERS

When The Mandalorian launched back in 2019, little did we know the series would end up being the opening chapter of an entire slate of stories set during what's since become known as the "New Republic Era."

Set roughly 5 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, the series laid the groundwork for The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka to follow, while Skeleton Crew is also expected to drop next year. Beyond that, we know Dave Filoni is working on a Star Wars movie which will bring all of these Disney+ franchises together.

It was during The Mandalorian's first season we learned about the "Night of a Thousand Tears," an Imperial-led genocide on Mandalore which saw Moff Gideon wipe out nearly all life on the planet.

After Ahsoka Tano helped her repel Maul's invasion during the Siege of Mandalore in The Clone Wars, we know Bo-Katan Kryze was ultimately betrayed by Gideon after attempting to enter peace talks with him. That led to her losing the Darksaber and, until recently, becoming an outcast from her people.

Now, Mandalore has been reborn, but more casualties were revealed in the latest episode of Ahsoka

During a heated confrontation with Baylan Skoll, Sabine Wren is reminded that her family and friends were wiped out during the purge of Mandalore. The villain heavily implies it's because Ahsoka didn't trust her and suggests Sabine actually tried to warn her master about Clan Wren being in danger, only to be ignored.

Ahsoka instead wanted to continue Sabine's Jedi training - Jedi aren't supposed to have attachments, remember - and this is likely at least part of what led to the two going their separate ways. For Baylan, it's an excuse to manipulate the Mandalorian into joining him with the promise of finding Ezra Bridger and not being harmed.

This tragic development better links Ahsoka to The Mandalorian and we'd be shocked if we don't eventually see Sabine learn what's currently happening on her planet now Bo-Katan has relit the Great Forge alongside The Armorer.

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.

The first four episodes of Ahsoka are now streaming on Disney+.
