HOUSE OF THE DRAGON Star Rumored To Play Younger Version Of Ahsoka Tano In AHSOKA; First Footage Debuts

A few days ago, we learned that the Ahsoka series coming to Disney+ will feature "flashbacks" (it's complicated: you can read more here) to key moments in the title character's life.

Among the periods we visit will be The Clone Wars, with a younger actress enlisted to take Rosario Dawson's place. Now, thanks to Nerdgazm, we know who will play the hero in that era, and it's House of the Dragon star Savannah Steyn. She starred as Lady Laena Velaryon in the HBO series, and counts A Discovery of Witches and Crawl among her other credits.

What we don't know is whether we'll hear Steyn's voice; after all, it would make sense for The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels actress Ashley Eckstein to reprise the role and voice Ahsoka with ADR. However, we can't imagine Lucasfilm would cast Steyn as little more than a body double!

She certainly looks the part, anyway, and this hopefully means we'll get to see Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker in his costume from The Clone Wars. Fans have been waiting on that for a long time and the hope had been he and Ewan McGregor might get to don live-action versions in Obi-Wan Kenobi (instead we just got a flashback to Attack of the Clones).

This all sounds like a really fun way to familiarise Star Wars fans who perhaps haven't watched The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. It's become clear Ahsoka is vitally important to the franchise moving forward, and we're sure this spin-off series won't be the last time we see the former Jedi in action.

The Mandalorian premieres on March 1, and something tells us we're unlikely to see much from this series before then. However, as more details continue to find their way online, you'll want to keep checking back here for updates.

Ahsoka is set to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2023. A snippet of footage from the show can be found in the player below!
