Earlier this week, we learned that Rupert Friend will play the live-action version of the Grand Inquisitor in Obi-Wan Kenobi, a character Jason Isaac lent his voice to in Star Wars Rebels.
Some fans have expressed disappointment that the Harry Potter alum won't be playing the villain, but this does appear to be one of those instances of an actor's voice not matching the physical requirements of a role (Ashley Eckstein's Ahsoka Tano is another example). Making Star Wars has since corroborated Bespin Bulletin's report, and we now have a few more details to share with you!
Apparently, there's a sequence in Obi-Wan Kenobi where The Grand Inquisitor "is amusingly shocked by the brutality of Moses Ingram’s character as she cut off the hands of a Tatooine citizen. One source said she was called something like 'the 3rd Sister.'"
What's interesting about that, of course, is the fact that we've met various other "sisters" in animation and video game projects set in this Galaxy Far, Far Away, so the Third Sister promises to be another intriguing addition to that lineup for former Jedis turned Sith Inquisitors. The site even adds that these killers "are going to set the mood of the series" and brutal throughout.
Now that Obi-Wan Kenobi has a premiere date - May 25 - we're anticipating seeing much more from the series, potentially as soon as tonight during the Super Bowl tonight if Disney+ plans to release a TV spot. Either way, we cannot wait to see the members of the Inquisitorius in action later this year...
