Despite being a highly successful executive during her tenure as Lucasfilm president, Kathleen Kennedy has become a polarizing figure over the years.
A lot of the backlash stems from the usual "angry fan-boy" mentality, but there are certainly some valid criticisms relating to her handling of the Star Wars sequel trilogy - particularly the final instalment, The Rise of Skywalker.
Rumors have been doing the rounds claiming that Kennedy has or will soon be fired/replaced for a long time, but now that Bob Iger has returned, is it actually going to happen? John Campea certainly seems to think so following tips he received from two different sources.
"This is what I have heard: I have heard that the decision to remove Kathy Kennedy has already been made and that she will be gone either sometime before or very, very, very shortly thereafter the release of Indiana Jones 5. Now, I want to be very, very clear here: I cannot independently say to you and confirm to you that this is a fact. I will say that one of the two people that have contacted me has a 1000% average on the things they’ve informed me of.”
Campea has been known to share solid scoops in the past... along with completely made-up bullshit! So, we wouldn't recommend putting too much stock in this rumor for the time being. As divisive as Kennedy's policies have proven to be, she is a huge part of Disney+'s success, so we can't see Disney just deciding to replace her because she's dragged her heels on getting Star Wars back into theaters.
