After a month of waiting since it was prematurely leaked via the Star Wars Celebration panel schedule, we finally learned what Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi is about. It's a six-episode animated anthology series with each of the shorts set during the prequel era.
Three of the episodes will tell of the origins of Ahsoka, while the other three will give us a look into the life of Count Dooku when he was a Jedi. Fans can expect to see appearances from multiple prequel characters, including Anakin Skywalker, Mace Windu, and Qui-Gon Jinn (which will see actor Liam Neeson return to voice the Jedi Master). Neeson's son will also voice a younger version of Qui-Gon Jinn in some of the episodes.
Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi will debut on Disney+ this Fall. The series is written and executive produced by Dave Filoni (The Mandalorian, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels).
It's been an eventful weekend for Star Wars fans. In addition to the debut of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+, Star Wars Celebration has given us a look at all the upcoming adventures in the galaxy far, far away. We got our first trailer for Andor, starring Diego Luna as Cassian Andor in the Rogue One spinoff; confirmation that both Ahsoka and The Mandalorian will arrive on Disney+ next year; and a new live-action series in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, which will follow a group of kids lost in space. There's also the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor game from EA and Respawn Entertainment coming in 2023.
