Ahsoka has brought a number of Star Wars Rebels characters into live-action, but much to the chagrin of many fans, Zeb, also known as Garazeb Orrelios, has not made an appearance. We do, however, have concept art from his surprise cameo - and live-action debut - in The Mandalorian season 3 by artist Aaron McBride.
A Lasat Rebel who piloted the Ghost in the animated series, prolific voice actor Steve Blum was tasked with bringing the heroic pilot and warrior to life. Zeb, who became close with Ezra as the series progressed, was a Captain of the Lasat Honor Guard before joining the Rebellion.
Blum reprised the role in live-action in The Mandalorian, and Zeb entered the scene after Captain Carson Teva received a message from Greef Karga and mentioned that he had thought Nevarro stood a good chance of making it. He added that Coruscant hadn't responded to a dispatch in weeks and wished Teva luck because he was going to need it, sounding perhaps a little disheartened with his new role.
We'd hoped to see that expanded on in Ahsoka, though we can't help but wonder whether original plans called for Zeb to be part of the scrapped Rangers of the New Republic series.
Regardless, in last week's penultimate episode, Sabine Wren catches Ezra Bridger up on everything that's happened since he disappeared and mentions that Zeb is now "training recruits," presumably for the New Republic army. That explains his absence as the Lasat is clearly busy elsewhere and can't just drop tools to help Ahsoka Tano and Sabine on what proves to be a somewhat hastily put-together plan to track down the missing Jedi.

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.
Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.
Seven of eight episodes of Ahsoka are now streaming on Disney+.
