THE MANDALORIAN: Dave Filoni Has No Interest In Further Exploring Grogu's Origins

We did find out how Grogu managed to escape the Jedi purge after Order 66, but it doesn't sound like Dave Filoni has much interest in exploring the little fella's origins beyond that...

When Grogu was first introduced to the Star Wars universe in the closing moments of the first episode of The Mandalorian, he immediately captured the hearts of fans, and viewers looked forward to learning more about the origins of the adorable "Baby Yoda."

Now, three seasons later, we still don't actually know that much more about the character, aside from how he managed to escape the Jedi temple purge after Order 66 was issued.

During a red carpet interview, The Mandalorian co-creator/writer/director Dave Filoni was asked if he'll be exploring Grogu's backstory any further, and while he did admit that he has an idea of where the little guy came from and his connection to Yoda's species, he doesn't seem to have much interest in delving into it on the show.

"Mando is his family."

While some will no doubt be disappointed by Filoni's comments, this doesn't mean we'll never find out any more about Grogu in other media, and, at the end of the day, isn't the future of the character a lot more important than his past?
