THE MANDALORIAN: Has Season 3's TRUE Villain Been Hiding In Plain Sight This Whole Time? - SPOILERS

The Mandalorian's latest episode delivered more than its fair share of surprises, but we have a theory that the show's true big bad has been hiding in plain sight this entire time. Find more details here!

In the latest episode of The Mandalorian, "The Spies," Moff Gideon made his return alongside an army of Stormtroopers decked out in Beskar armour.

The villain plans to once again purge Mandalore of its native people, reshaping the planet in his own twisted image. Combining what he calls the best of the Jedi, Mandalorian, and cloning cultures, Gideon outsmarted Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze, but could he have had some help?

Well, we believe The Armorer intends to betray her fellow Mandalorians and has, in fact, been working with Gideon this whole time!

Given how proactive she's been in season 3, it's easy to forget that the unnamed character is a fanatic who leads a cult. The Armorer even expelled Din from her covert because he removed his helmet, saying the only way he could regain his status was to return to a dead planet (a seemingly impossible mission).

Now, an argument could be made that her conversation with Bo-Katan about the legendary Mythosaur has changed her outlook, hence why she's suddenly changed her stance on the Nite Owl removing her helmet and bringing those who have lost sight of "The Way" back into the fold.

We're not buying that, though, and think uniting the Mandalorians was a deliberate move so they could more easily be destroyed by Gideon. She left Mandalore awfully quickly with those injured warriors and right in time to avoid the attack from his Stormtroopers.

That could be coincidental, of course, and there's a chance The Armorer will now have to fight to survive once those TIE Interceptors arrive. Even so, we can't ignore the similar helmet design both she and Gideon are rocking. Death Watch was briefly loyal to Maul and fans have long theorised that she might have served him.

It's hard to say what interest Gideon would have in Maul, but he may well have crossed paths with the former Sith Lord or simply admired the way he briefly conquered Mandalore with the Darksaber in hand. Gideon and The Armorer being in cahoots definitely adds up and let's not forget that she has always talked in a very villainous manner!

Gideon will have also needed someone to forge his new armour and when The Armorer said she'd worked on the planet's forge, she may well have been referring to recent months rather than the distant past.

We'll see what happens in next's week's The Mandalorian finale, but a betrayal like this would definitely sting and leave the Mandalorians once again in disarray and an easy target for the Empire. However, they will have Bo-Katan there to lead them alongside Din...
