Very little has been revealed about Disney+'s Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, though we expect it to follow Jude Law's mystery character along with a group of children who end up being lost in the Galaxy.
Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Christopher Ford (Chaos Walking) are developing the project under Jon Favreau's watch, with the story set to play out in the same timeframe as The Mandalorian. Now, Bespin Bulletin has added to recent rumours from Making Star Wars that suggest the show's villains will be a group of pirates.
The site theorises that the school building being besieged by the pirates in The Mandalorian's season 3 premiere may, in fact, be home to Law's character and the kids under his watch.
That certainly makes sense if correct, but it's confirmed here that the pirates from "The Apostate" are, in fact, the same ones that will feature heavily in Skeleton Crew. The site even believes that Pirate King Gorian Shard is going to be the show's main villain, something we can believe given the importance placed on what proved to be a largely throwaway appearance.
There are those who didn't appreciate that goofy character design, though it may be explained by the direction this show is heading in.
"I’ve heard mixed things regarding the series with some sources calling it 'campy' and told me to think more Book of Boba Fett than The Mandalorian," the site reveals, "but I’ve also been told that the series is 'good' and 'fun.'"
It also sounds like we shouldn't expect to see Skeleton Crew until much later this year, but with Star Wars Celebration fast approaching, we're sure more details - and a possible first look - will be revealed then.
Carey Jones, who previously played Man-Thing in Werewolf by Night and Black Krrsantan in The Book of Boba Fett, portrayed Shard in The Mandalorian, though it's unclear whether he will voice him in Skeleton Crew.
As always, stay tuned for updates.
