THE MANDALORIAN Season 3 Has Only THREE Writers Leading To Speculation About A HUGE Crossover

Following the news The Mandalorian season 3 will premiere on Disney+ on March 1, excitement for the show's return is rapidly building. We're hoping another trailer isn't too far off, but some interesting details about the writing team have been revealed courtesy of Writers Guild of America West.

As you can see below, Jon Favreau penned the first second, fifth, sixth, and eighth episodes on his own. The Book of Boba Fett's Noah Kloor joins him for Chapter 3, with Filoni teaming up with Favreau for the fourth and seventh instalments.

Unsurprisingly, Filoni's involvement has led to speculation those two episodes could take a deep dive into Star Wars lore as that's typically been the case when he's become involved. Seeing as the writer and director has most recently worked on Ahsoka, the expectation now is that we could see some of the characters from that show, like Sabine Wren, appear.

That's only speculation for now, but it does make sense. Seeing Filoni's name on any project is always a cause for celebration, while he and Favreau have always been something of a dream team.

In terms of who will direct The Mandalorian season 3's episodes, we don't know. Presumably, some familiar names will be back to work on the show, with a couple of newcomers to the franchise potentially joining them. In season 2, for example, Ant-Man franchise director Peyton Reed really impressed fans with his contributions (including Luke Skywalker's surprise return).

Very little has been revealed about what comes next in this corner of the Galaxy Far, Far Away, though we do anticipate the fight to retake Mandalore being the main focus now Din Djarin and Grogu are no longer searching for a Jedi. Hopefully, we'll also get some answers about the latter's escape from the Jedi Temple in these episodes.

As noted, The Mandalorian season 3 will premiere on Disney+ on March 1.
