Ahsoka is generating a lot of excitement, especially among Star Wars Rebels fans. Eman Esfandi will play Ezra Bridger in the live-action series, which will also include Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren and, though it hasn't been confirmed, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla.

Much to the chagrin of fans, Zeb, also known as Garazeb Orrelios, has not been mentioned before now.

He was a Lasat Rebel who piloted the Ghost in the animated series, with prolific voice actor Steve Blum tasked with bringing the heroic pilot and warrior to life. Zeb, who became close with Ezra as the series progressed, was a Captain of the Lasan Honor Guard before joining the Rebellion.

This week's episode of The Mandalorian, "The Pirate," confirmed that Zeb is now working for the New Republic and an official shot of the beloved Rebels character has been shared on the show's social media accounts.

In the show's latest chapter, Zeb enters the scene after Captain Carson Teva receives a message from Greef Karga and mentions that he had thought Nevarro stood a good chance of making it. He adds that Coruscant hasn't responded to a dispatch in weeks and wishes Teva luck because he's going to need it, sounding perhaps a little disheartened with his new role.

That's a plot thread that will likely be picked up in Ahsoka, though we can't help but wonder whether original plans called for Zeb to be part of the scrapped Rangers of the New Republic series.

As you can see below, it seems Zeb is brought to life through a mixture of practical and visual effects, and that was indeed Blum once again lending his voice to the hero (the actor's son has since revealed his dad also did facial capture for the Lasat).

You can take a closer look at Zeb below.
