Get ready for more Energon! Transformers: Cyberworld launched its second season this past Saturday, August 22nd, with a two-episode premiere on the official Transformers YouTube channel, where the whole series streams completely free!
Per the official synopsis, the surge is unlocking new areas, new abilities, and new dangers across Cyberworld, the digital realm the whole series takes place in, while old alliances break apart, and Hasbro's own tease asks the question the season is built on: "will it be a source of danger or immense power?"
For Bumblebee, the answer looks like both.
The scout discovers a new form of energon that makes him bigger and stronger than he's ever been, and it comes with a cost: the official character description says a Bumblebee "once cheerful and loyal" now "finds himself sinking into the depths of his angst," reeling from revelations that upended his worldview while his body changes around him. The two-part premiere is even billed around him unlocking brand-new powers. The franchise's friendliest Autobot has a rage problem.
Bumblebee has been the franchise's entry point since the 1984 series cast him as the small Volkswagen Beetle a kid could imagine owning, and he became the first Transformer to carry a live-action movie solo in 2018. Handing him an unstable power-up could prove to be a real storytelling risk for a series aimed at kids.
This series is now the only place new Transformers stories are airing. On the movie side, Paramount has a live-action reboot in the works with a new writer and Michael Bay has been circling a return, but nothing has cameras rolling, and director Josh Cooley has said a sequel to the animated prequel Transformers One is unlikely after its soft box office. Until one of those changes, Cyberworld is carrying the banner.
The series itself is a CG production that debuted in July 2025 with a 36-episode run announced for its first season. Hasbro hasn't said how many episodes Season 2 will run.
Meanwhile, on the page, Robert Kirkman's Energon Universe comics keep winning readers at Skybound, with an animated adaptation rumored but never confirmed.

Four decades after the original 98-episode cartoon and its 1986 animated movie built the mold, the free-cartoon-plus-toy-wave formula is unchanged; only the screen moved, from weekday afternoon TV to a YouTube app. For a property that has survived every format the industry has thrown at it, a digital-world storyline about unstable new power feels about right.
