Last week, some photos from the set of Disney's live-action Snow White found their way online and the response...well, it wasn't good.

The title character was pictured alongside the movie's new interpretation of the "Seven Dwarfs," a group of diverse male and female actors who counted only one little person among them. Since then, we've learned it's all part of a bold plan to reimagine Snow White's original saviours.

Despite the fact a stand-in was taking the place of lead star Rachel Zegler, many internet trolls took this opportunity to once again tear into the actress for playing a diverse version of the lead character.

It's always a disappointing thing to see, but an apparent inevitability these days. Zegler was quick to stand up for herself, sharing photos from her childhood and reminding her fans that anyone can be a Princess if they want to, no matter what they look like.

The Little Mermaid star Halle Bailey is, unfortunately, no stranger to racist abuse after playing that live-action remake's Ariel. Noticing what Zegler was going through, the singer and actress was quick to share a sweet message of support (which her fellow Disney Princess clearly appreciated).

The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb helms Snow White, while Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot is set to play the movie's Evil Queen. Very little has been revealed about this reimagining, though all signs point to it taking some liberties with the classic animated feature it's based on.

With any luck, we'll have more to share soon, though Disney is likely bracing itself for backlash aimed at any sort of trailer or sneak peek!

Snow White is set to be released in theaters on March 22, 2024.
