There were lots of talking points from the first three episodes of Andor, but among the biggest was the Star Wars TV series to use a real-life swear word for the first time in this franchise's history...

Yesterday saw the debut of the first three episodes of Andor on Disney+, and the response thus far has been very good. The gritty, character-driven approach to the Star Wars franchise is a welcome change of pace for those who have grown tired of the sort of fan service seen in The Book of Boba Fett, for example, though we do think that's a somewhat flawed argument.

After all, how much more fan service can you get than a prequel to a prequel to the Star Wars movie that started it all?

The series may not feature appearances from Darth Vader and other big-name characters, but it is fleshing out this Galaxy Far, Far Away in important ways (showing us the earliest days of the Rebellion, for example). However, there was a moment in the third chapter that got everyone talking...and it has nothing to with Easter Eggs!

Alex Ferns' Sergeant Linus Mosk of the Corporate Tactical Forces of Preox-Morlana is among those in pursuit of Cassian Andor, a task that isn't as easy as any of the group believed it would be.

When things start going wrong, he says, "Shit! We're under siege," marking the first time this real-life swear word has been used in the Star Wars franchise. Typically, these movies and TV shows have come up with their own versions of bad language, such as "poodoo," and while we have no complaints about a character saying "shit," it did feel a bit out of place!

Needless to say, we don't anticipate this being a precursor to Din Djarin dropping F-bombs when The Mandalorian returns next year, though it is an interesting creative decision on Andor's part.
