ANDOR Showrunner Tony Gilroy Reveals First Spoilery Season 2 Details Including Plans For K-2SO's Debut

Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy has shared some of the first season 2 intel, revealing when the story begins, which characters we will or won't be seeing, and sharing an update on plans for K-2SO. Check it out!

The season finale of Andor set the stage for Cassian Andor to join the Rebellion, and after a mostly slow-burn approach to storytelling in the first 12 episodes, we already know season 2 is going to up the ante. In that, the next four years of the title character's life will be broken down into four three-episode arcs, meaning the show is about to pick up the pace in a big way.

Talking to Collider, Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy confirmed season 2 won't show us Cassian and Luthen Rael's fateful conversation. Instead, we can look forward to a time jump!

"It'll be a year later after what you just saw. [A] great deal has happened in the interim," he teased before going on to say none of the characters we've become acquainted with will have died since we last saw them.

"I don't have anybody dying in the gap. So, if they live, and I'm not going to promise how long they live when they get to the other side, but they all know that. But, no, if they lived in the show, they're alive."

It's good to know the likes of Bix and Vel won't suddenly vanish from the series, but there are new additions to Andor to look forward to as well. One we had hoped might appear in the show's first season is Alan Tudyk's K-2SO, Cassian's loyal droid who similarly makes the ultimate sacrifice in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Gilroy would go on to tell the site that introducing K-2SO is "one of the responsibilities" of the second half of Andor, so that hopefully means we'll get to see how Cassian went from being apprehended by one of the Empire's droids to befriending one.

All twelve episodes of Andor are now streaming on Disney+. You can find our recap of the finale here and intel on the post-credits scene here
