During this year's Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm revealed plans for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. The Disney+ series will focus on a group of kids lost in the Galaxy who are looking for a way home, while Jude Law (Fantastic Beasts) is set to lead the show as one of its only confirmed cast members.
Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Christopher Ford (Chaos Walking) are developing the project which is set during the same period as The Mandalorian, and a new look at Law's mysterious character has now been revealed.
Included in a Disney+ 2023 preview, it shows the actor wearing a hood and seemingly on the run. It's thought he'll join these kids on their journey, with recent rumours pointing to him being in charge of the group as a teacher of some sort.
In fact, Making Star Wars has shared a story today revealing that Law's character and his crew will, at some point, be "guests" at an "opulent hotel." The people there are described as "Canto Bight rich," while the location is said to be among the biggest created for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
"This sequence is big," the site reveals. "Loads of costumes were made for the rich guests and servants of this set and location. So I imagine the production expense is justified by it being important to the overall narrative."
We're definitely intrigued by this one, and expect it to be more than just a fun diversion from the other stories being told on Disney+. In fact, there are rumblings that it will even tie into shows like The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, so it's likely a key part of whatever Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have planned for this corner of the Galaxy.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2023.
