Vanity Fair is putting the spotlight on Lucasfilm's Star Wars TV shows and that means we have our first proper look at Darth Vader ahead of Obi-Wan Kenobi's premiere on May 27. The iconic villain has been kept under wraps for the most part since Disney+ started promoting the show, but he looks...well, pretty much exactly as you'd expect and hope the character would for his live-action return.

Talking to the site, Hayden Christensen explained why he finally chose to reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker. "This is a character that has come to define my life in so many ways," the actor explains. "I was originally hired to play a very specific portion of this person’s life. Most of my work was with Anakin. And now I get to come back and explore the character of Darth Vader."

Some have wondered why he's donning the armour in place of a stand-in, but it's clear Christensen has given the portrayal of Anakin as Vader a great deal of thought. "A lot of my conversations with Deborah were about wanting to convey this feeling of strength, but also coupled with imprisonment. There is this power and vulnerability, and I think that’s an interesting space to explore."

Unfortunately, we're unable to share the photos with you here due to them being copyrighted. However, you can check out the photoshoot by heading over to Vanity Fair's website by clicking here.

Also pictured alongside Hayden Christensen's Sith Lord are Moses Ingram as Reva and Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Andor stars Diego Luna and Genevieve O'Reilly don their respective costumes as Cassian Andor and Mon Mothma, while you'll also see Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin and Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano. Hopefully, more new content is heading our way during Star Wars Celebration!

As for Obi-Wan Kenobi, we'll have more to share about the series with you very soon!
