Though the fourth season of Stranger Things has just come to an end, the writers are thinking all the way back to Season 2.

Released just before Halloween in 2017, the second season introduced a plethora of new characters including Max Mayfield, Billy Hargrove, Kali A.K.A. "008," and Bob Newby. While most of them made it out of that season alive, some did not; the latter of the aforementioned bunch in particular.

Bob was taken out by some creatures of the Upside Down while the gang were skulking around Hawkins Laboratory. It was very brutal indeed, and Joyce watched it go down. Well, now the writers have revealed (via FearHQ) another take on Bob's death that is arguably even more devastating.

Apparently, Bob's killer was considered to be none other than Will at one point in writing stages. Will would've been possessed by the evil Mind Flayer at the time, to be clear, but that doesn't make it any less brutal for the young boy, his mother, and Bob.

The writers also revealed another shocking alternate idea they had for the second season of Stranger Things. They say that Eleven was going to mercy kill her biological mother, Terry Ives, as she was catatonic following Hawkins Laboratory's experimentation on her.

Both of these ideas are particularly dark and would've weighed heavily on the young characters which is perhaps why the writers didn't ultimately go with them. All we can do is speculate. What do you think of these grisly deaths that didn't ultimately feature in the show?
