THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS Concept Art Reveals More About Neo And Trinity's Return From The Dead

At the end of 2003's The Matrix Revolutions, both Neo and Trinity died during the epic final battle in Zion. Needless to say, we all wondered how they had been brought back to life in The Matrix Resurrections, and that movie would ultimately reveal that The Analyst had found a way to repair their bodies.

After essentially rebuilding them, he created a new Matrix where he could manipulate them and humanity as he saw fit. They eventually break free, of course, but a closer look at their resurrection has now been shared by concept artist Emmanuel Shiu.

As you can see, Neo and Trinity's bodies were pieced together by sentinels, something we didn't actually get to see in the movie itself. While the scenes below would have added a lot to The Matrix Resurrections, the return of both characters still worked...in fact, it was probably one of the few elements of the disappointing sequel that did!

"A wholly unnecessary epilogue to The Matrix trilogy, Resurrections retreads old ground, delivers mediocre action, and proves itself a tough pill to swallow despite a decent enough love story that, alone, isn't enough to justify revisiting this franchise," we said in our review last December, adding: "Time for a reboot."

There were plenty of fans who did enjoy this movie, of course, but with disappointing box office numbers, there's been no word on another chapter in this story heading our way in the near future.

Take a closer look at this concept art from The Matrix Resurrections below:
