It's hard to believe we're already halfway through the inaugural season of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, but here we are, preparing for Episode 6. Ahead of its debut this week, Paramount+ has shared a new batch of photos as well as a synopsis from the episode, which is titled "Come, Let's Away."

The upcoming episode will find our cadets on their first training mission, taking them to an abandoned ship where they'll encounter "a dangerous new enemy." The synopsis goes on to tease that Nahla will "risk everything" to save them, including seeking help from an "unexpected, untrustworthy source."

There's a few predictions being made thus far. Some believe this derelict ship is leftover from a point in the timeline that we're all familiar with. And as such, we'll get a moment where a hologram or a recognizable character from a previous series pops up. Whether or not that will be the "unexpected" source remains to be seen.

But what if this untrustworthy source is none other than Nus Braka? It's been a while since he's been shown and could be exactly the kind of savior we wouldn't expect.

It looks like this will be a misson for both Starfleet Academy and the War College, so maybe the unexpected source is Commander Zeeren Kelrec. Paramount has a tendency to throw curveballs at us and try and trip us up with their episode descriptions.

“Come, Let’s Away.” was written by Kenneth Lin and  Kiley Rosseter, and directed by Larry Teng. The episode synopsis reads:

During the cadets’ first training mission on an abandoned ship, they encounter a dangerous new enemy. As our cadets fight for survival, Nahla must risk everything to save them by seeking help from an unexpected, untrustworthy, source.

Up until now, our cadets haven't really faced high-stakes danger, save for the premiere episode, so I'm excited to see how they fare when fighting for actual survival. We already know Caleb is an expert survivalist so I'm hoping we see someone other than him step up. I don't think we need any more scenes showing his excellent hand-to-hand combat or hacking skills.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy Episode 6, “Come, Let’s Away," will debut on Paramount+ on Thursday, February 12th. Are you enjoying the series thus far?
