Earlier this month, Paramount+ shared the first official teaser trailer for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, confirming that the series will return this summer. Now it's been announced that Season 3 will premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Festival in June.
The Festival runs from June 4th through June 15th in New York City and showcases world premieres of new and returning programs. Tribeca Film confirmed that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 will be a part of its 2025 lineup.
Strange New Worlds Season 3 will reconnect fans with the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise as Captain Pike (Anson Mount) must face a crucial decision in his encounter with the Gorn. The trailer, however, teased much more to the new season. More genre hopping episodes away, including a throwback to the 1960s, a rom-com, and an Agatha Christie-style murder mystery.
In season three of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, we reconnect with the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, still under the command of Captain Pike (Anson Mount), as they face the conclusion of season two’s harrowing encounter with the Gorn. But new life and civilizations await, including a villain that will test our characters’ grit and resolve. An exciting twist on classic Star Trek, season three takes characters both new and beloved, to new heights and dives into thrilling adventures of faith, duty, romance, comedy and mystery with varying genres never before seen on any other Star Trek.
Following the Season 3 screening, there will be a special conversation with the cast and crew of Strange New Worlds. Series stars Anson Mount, Ethan Peck, Celia Rose Gooding, Babs Olusanmokun, Carol Kane, and Executive Producers Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, and Henry Alonso Myers will all take part in the conversation.
Unfortunately, we still don't have a release date for when Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will arrive on the Paramount+ streaming platform the rest of us to enjoy. Season 2 of the hit series aired from June 2023 to August 2023, which suggests that Season 3 could hit Paramount+ sometime shortly after its Tribeca Film premiere -- perhaps late June or early July. At the very least, we should hopefully get some sort of announcement soon. Despite the wait for Season 3, production on Season 4 of the show already kicked off last month.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is a spin-off from Star Trek: Discovery and chronicles the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise.
