Ewan McGregor has returned as Obi-Wan Kenobi...for a Comic Relief sketch. While not the comeback many of you will have been hoping for, he recently donned his cloak and even reeled out a familiar catchphrase.

Ewan McGregor finally reprised his most famous role in last year's Obi-Wan Kenobi, with the six-part Disney+ series proving a hit with fans and critics alike.

Revealing that "Ben" had met Princess Leia as a child, we followed the Jedi as he once again embraced the Force and faced his friend-turned-enemy, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. Obi-Wan emerged victorious from that confrontation, setting the stage for their eventual rematch in A New Hope (and, hopefully, another meeting before then).

While fans remain anxious for a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi, McGregor recently returned as the Jedi Master for a Comic Relief sketch in the UK. A spin on a reality TV series called The Traitors (which is available on Peacock in the U.S.), it also features The Great British Bake Off's Mary Berry and The Office star Stephen Merchant.

McGregor is clearly having fun playing Obi-Wan again here, hitting all the familiar beats and even kicking off his return with, "Hello there."

It's all in good fun for a great cause, and we're keeping everything crossed that a second season does eventually happen. The actor will be on hand at Star Wars Celebration early next month for a panel reflecting on that first batch of episodes, so here's hoping an announcement is made in London.

McGregor first played Obi-Wan Kenobi in 1999's The Phantom Menace, later reprising the role in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. While he briefly lent his voice to the sequel trilogy, the actor didn't make his official return until last year.
