While we sit back and wait with bated breath for the first Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer, plot details continue to leak online. Now, Making Star Wars, a trusted source for news on this Galaxy Far, Far Away, has weighed in to expand on recent story details in order to offer a much clearer idea of what to expect from the Disney+ series.
The site confirms that Obi-Wan is going to leave Tatooine on a secret mission to save Princess Leia after Bail Organa shows up at his homestead and reveals that his daughter has been kidnapped. From there, he travels off-world via the same sort of public transport we saw Din Djarin make use of in The Book of Boba Fett, heading to a seedy planet said to be akin to somewhere like Reno.
However, this won't be a simple rescue mission; Darth Vader's Sith Inquisitors have been studying the Jedi who survived Order 66 in order to learn more about their allies. As a result, the Fifth Brother and Third Sister use Leia's kidnapping to see if Organa will reach out to Kenobi or any other remaining Jedi. When Kenobi shows up, they managed to zero in on potentially their biggest prize yet.
You may recall that Obi-Wan Kenobi was at one point pushed back due to perceived similarities to The Mandalorian. Well, it sounds like the nine-year-old Leia will have a Grogu-style cute and comedic relationship with the Jedi Master, albeit for just one episode rather than the entire series.
There's a lot to unpack here, but the series is starting to take shape and we now have a much better idea of what leads to Obi-Wan and Darth Vader once again crossing paths in an epic lightsaber duel...
