Earlier this year, EA and Respawn Entertainment released Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Revolving around Order 66 survivor Cal Kestis, the video game franchise has further explored the near-20-year gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.
Along the way, we've seen Cal face Darth Vader, meet a Dark Jedi from the High Republic era, and even embrace the power of the Dark Side in his latest outing.
While many fans remain keen for the character to make the leap to live-action, it appears the plan is for his story to continue - and possibly conclude - on video game consoles. Now, actor Cameron Monaghan has officially confirmed a third Star Wars Jedi title is on the way!
During a recent appearance at the Ocala Comic-Con alongside Merrin actress Tina Ivlev, the actor confirmed that the trilogy will be completed with another instalment.
"We’re working on the third. And we’re in the process of doing it right now," he says in the video below. "That’s a big undertaking, and it’s been some conversations so far. Hopefully when all things are said and done we’ll be able to go in and make something really cool for you guys again."
This game is likely years away, so we'll have to be patient when it comes to seeing what comes next for the characters who take centre stage in the Star Wars Jedi franchise. After tapping into the Dark Side during Jedi: Survivor, chances are we could see this hero's story reach a tragic end.
You can watch his and Ivlev's full convention appearance in the player below.
Picking up five years after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order, Jedi: Survivor is a third-person, narrative-driven action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. If this trailer is any indication, the stakes have increased dramatically in this follow-up, with new supporting characters, locations, and gameplay mechanics.
No longer a Padawan, Cal has come into his own and grown into a powerful Jedi Knight.
Carrying the memories and expectations of the Jedi Order with him, his crusade against the Empire has only become more perilous. The Dark Times are closing in - with enemies new and familiar surrounding him, Cal will need to decide how far he’s willing to go to save those closest to him.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC.
