While many of you might know Bryce Dallas Howard best for her work in front of the camera in franchises like Spider-Man and Jurassic World, the actress has also proven herself a superb talent behind it as well. As a director, she's most recently made a huge impact in a Galaxy Far, Far Away by helming some of the best episodes of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
Romper recently caught up with Howard and posed a big question to the filmmaker about whether Din Djarin's Beskar armour makes him a little too overpowered, especially when he can so easily shrug off blaster fire. "He's very strong, and in Mandalorian culture, they're trained to be warriors, and so they can do that," Howard explained. "But then, that's where bacta spray comes in as well."
"Because he doesn't have a bacta tank like Boba, but bacta spray is helpful," she added. "In the Boba Fett season, Mando got sliced by the dark saber, and then his leg was messed up. I was super excited to have that because I wanted to show he gets hurt and then heals from bacta spray."
It's worth pointing out that part of this interview was conducted by a child, but Howard's comments are still interesting. The fact it was important to her to show that the bounty hunter is vulnerable shows what a great understanding she has of the character, and drives home the fact that, even with the Darksaber, Din isn't invincible. That's a point we're bound to see explored in The Mandalorian season 3.
Howard has become a key figure in this Galaxy Far, Far Away, and fans are eager to see her take on a major project similar to how Deborah Chow was given the reigns of the Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series.
The Mandalorian season 3 is set to arrive on Disney+ later this year.
