The Quantum Leap reboot/revival is set to premiere tomorrow night, and NBC has now shared a first-look featurette spotlighting plenty of new footage from the sci-fi adventure series.

While Doctor Sam Beckett and Admiral Al Calavicci were the duo at the forefront of the '90s show, this follow-up will focus on physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee) and his fiancée Addison (Caitlin Bassett), who, just like Al, appears in the form of a hologram only Ben can see and hear.

It looks like Quantum Leap with stick pretty closely to the original concept, with Ben leaping into different people throughout history, in an attempt to set things right and find his way home.

Check out the video below.

Unfortunately, fans hoping to see Scott Bakula reprise the role of Sam Beckett will be disappointed by the actor's Instagram post addressing the rumors of his return.

Bakula doesn't go into the specifics of why he declined the opportunity to return, but does mention that it was a "very difficult decision." Sam is still expected to be referenced in the new show, however, so the door is always open for the actor if he should happen to change his mind.
