Apple TV+ has unveiled the first trailer for its upcoming eight-part drama, The Changeling, which stars Academy Award-nominee LaKeith Stanfield as a man who embarks on an increasingly surreal and perilous odyssey through the streets of a New York he never knew existed when his wife mysteriously vanishes.

Based on the acclaimed best-selling book by Victor LaValle, the show is described as "a fairytale for grown-ups. It’s a unique blend of horror, parenthood fable."

The trailer begins like it's teasing up a very different kind of story, but when Clark Backo's character, Emma, recounts a story from her days travelling around South America, things take a decidedly more sinister and fantastical turn.

The series also stars Clark Backo, Adina Porter, Samuel T. Herring, Alexis Louder, Jared Abrahamson, and special guest star Malcolm Barrett, and is set to make its global debut with the first three episodes on Friday, September 8, 2023, followed by a new episode every Friday through October 13.

Check out the trailer below along with a new poster, and let us know if you plan on watching The Changeling this September.
