Despite the ongoing WGA strike, scripts for Andor season 2 were reportedly completed prior to that starting and work now continues on the Disney+ series.
This week, cameras have been rolling at Hever Castle, Kent in England, a location previously used as a stand-in for Naboo in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. The fan who took these photos was reportedly told the castle is once again doubling for Padme Amidala's home planet, seemingly confirming we'll finally return there.
If what you see in the post below doesn't ring a bell, it's because the scenes shot at the location were actually cut from the 1999 movie. However, it was shown in a deleted scene, so we'd be shocked if the location isn't once again doubling for Naboo.
What takes us back to the planet which was such a crucial part of the prequel trilogy? We haven't been there since Padme's funeral, and with years having passed at this point, we'd be very interested to learn what's become of the planet.
After all, this was Emperor Palpatine's home as well and, after Padme's death, he may well have looked to reshape the planet in his image.
We'd assume Cassian is the one who heads to Naboo, and if so, it's got to be related to the rise of the Rebellion. We saw what looked like Naboo soldiers help Jedi Kelleran Beq and Grogu escape during Order 66, and can't help but wonder whether the plan is to somehow start tying these plot threads together.
Season 2 of Andor will play out across four three-episode blocks, with a year passing between each of them. Despite a slow start to the first season, it's since come to be regarded as the best Star Wars TV series, meaning there's a lot of excitement for the show's return.
Andor season 2 is set to premiere on Disney+ in August 2024.
