Obi-Wan Kenobi has assembled an incredible cast, though we don't really know which characters any of those new additions will be bringing to life. However, thanks to Making Star Wars, some details have surfaced about who Eternals star Kumail Nanjiani is set to play in the upcoming Disney+ series.
According to the site, when Obi-Wan is forced to travel to a world they describe as being akin to "Space Reno," he meets up with Nanjiani's character. Just like Rogue One's Cassian Andor had contacts who operated in the shadows, Nanjiani will be playing a contact of Kenobi's and Bail Organa's. The unnamed ally will point "Ben" in the direction of when the kidnapped Leia is being held.
In related news, Variety has confirmed that legendary composer John Williams is set to return to this Galaxy Far, Far Away for Obi-Wan Kenobi. He's written the musical signature for the iconic character and recorded that last week alongside a Los Angeles orchestra under tight security.
We thought he'd retired from Star Wars after The Rise of Skywalker, so this is welcomed news. As well as working on the original trilogies, Williams was also enlisted to write Solo's theme and even music for the Galaxy's Edge theme part. Despite being 90, the composer remains busy and will also return for the fifth Indiana Jones movie (which is set to be released next year).
A different composer will be scoring the six Obi-Wan Kenobi episodes, with recording believed to have already taken place in London. The first instalment of the show will debut on May 25.
