Now about a month away from its premiere, Silo Season 3 has received its official trailer, and boy, does it pack a bunch of surprise twists. Following the cliffhanger ending of the second season, Season 3 will delve further the mysterious origins of the underground society, splitting the timeline over the course of 10 episodes.
In the present, Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) has survived her forced "cleaning"; however, her memories have seemingly been wiped. With no recollection of her time spent outside the silo, Nichols is now trying to piece together her fragmented memories. All the while, the silo and its inhabitants are facing the looming threat of a catastrophic "safeguard procedure."
Then there's the "Before Times," which we got a brief glimpse of during the Season.2 finale. This branching storyline will follow journalist Helen Drew (Jessica Henwick) and Congressman Daniel Keene (Ashley Zukerman) as they "uncover a conspiracy that pulls them into a chain of events with catastrophic, irreversible consequences."
Silo Season 3 will premiere on Apple TV on July 3 with one new episode released every Friday through September 4, 2026. The season is directed by Emmy Award winner Graham Yost, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. Series star Rebecca Ferguson is also executive producing.
Returning alongside Ferguson is much of the ensemble cast, including Common (Robert Sims), Harriet Walter (Martha Walker), Chinaza Uche (Paul Billings), Avi Nash (Lukas Kyle), Alexandria Riley (Camille Sims), Shane McRae (Knox), Remmie Milner (Shirley Campbell), Rick Gomez (Patrick Kennedy), Billy Postlethwaite (Hank), and Clare Perkins (Carla McLain). The press release doesn't specifically mention if Tim Robbins will return as Bernard, though if he does, it would be tough to explain how he also survived the incinerator. It's possible that his involvement Season 3 could come in the form of flashbacks tied to the silos' history.
Season 3 will also feature some newcomers. Zukerman and Henwick who appeared in the Season 2 finale, are back, alongside Laura Innes, Jessica Brown Findlay, Morven Christie, Reed Birney and Matt Craven. Colin Hanks is set to recur, while Steve Zahn, who played the isolated Silo 17 survivor Solo, will return.
Apple has already renewed Silo for a fourth and final season, wrapping up the brilliant adaptation of Hugh Howey's trilogy of novels. It seems that Seasons 3 and 4 will merge the novels Shift and Dust. Shift acts as a prequel, explaining the history of how the silos came to be, while Dust conclude the overarching present-time story.
