Actor David Harbour had a bad feeling about what is now one of Netflix's biggest success stories. The actor, which takes on the role of Jim Hopper in Stranger Things, believed the show would flop. Granted, it wasn't just Harbour who felt this way, his hair person also felt the same way.
Harbour was so sure the show wasn't going to work out that he felt it had no future on the streaming platform, which was already housing some strong series at the time like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. Because of this, he feared it wouldn't perform all that well. Sure enough, contary to the actor's belief, it was a hit from the very beginning in 2016.
"By the time we finished, we wrapped, I thought we wouldn't get a second season, we'd be the first Netflix show kind of ever to never get a second season. We thought no one would watch it, it was going to be a disaster."
His fear isn't too hard for people to see why he thought it would fall. Stranger Things had some stiff competition following up or in other cases working alongside other major productions Netflix itself was spearheading. Luckily enough, the risks taken paid off and the show would skyrocket its episode budget and not only got that second season Harbour was skeptical of, but would find piece with four total seasons and a fifth and final season in the works.
The sci-fi horror show was even named Netflix's most watched English language show ever back in June.
