Paramount Pictures and eOne's Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is now in theaters, and, like quite a lot of major studio blockbusters these days, the movie contains a mid-credits scene.

Spoilers follow.

Most post-credits stingers are designed to tease or set-up what's to come, and while we're sure Honor Among Thieves will get a sequel (depending on its box office performance), this brief scene is really just a pay-off to an earlier gag.

At one point, the gang visits a graveyard so that Simon (Justice Smith) can use a spell to reanimate a corpse in order to learn the whereabouts of a magical helmet that's vital to their quest. After a few tries, they finally get their answers, but Edgin (Chris Pine) leaves before asking one poor old warrior his final question.

In the mid-credits scene, we see that he's still sitting up in his coffin, begging for someone to ask him one more question so he can return to the afterlife.

It's a funny moment, but may disappoint fans hoping for something a little more substantial or significant to the main story.

Do you plan on checking out Dungeons and Dragons in theaters this weekend?

"A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people," reads the official synopsis. "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure."

Game Night directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley helmed the project, and wrote the latest version of the script based on a previous draft by Michael Gilio. Derek Kolstad (John Wick; The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) has also been hired to write and develop a separate live-action Dungeons & Dragons television show, which was recently given a straight-to-series order for Paramount+.
