Recently, there have been rumblings that Henry Cavill and Elizabeth Olsen are being eyed for key roles in House of the Dragon season 2. That would be quite the change of pace for the Game of Thrones franchise as it's typically made stars out of its impressive cast rather than hiring Hollywood A-Listers.
There's been a lot of excitement surrounding the possibility of Cavill and Olsen taking a trip to Westeros, anyway, but it seems like this is the first the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star has heard about it.
Talking in the video below, Olsen admits that she auditioned for the role of Daenerys Targaryen once upon a time and was then asked outright if she would be open to starring in House of the Dragon. "Yeah, I mean, sure. But like, I don't know how rumors like that get started and people think they're legitimate."
"Dreamcasting is fun, yeah. I heard that it was, like, announced though, which is weirder. From someone with a blue check, I heard, when I did my Variety interview for tonight."
Adding that she's "never heard of such a thing" when it comes to her being part of season 2 of the HBO series, Olsen went on to say the following when asked if she's potentially interested: "Sure, I mean, anything that's worth telling, that's a good story, that's innovative, that's great characters, and yeah, sure."
So, the actress is clearly open to the idea, but we probably shouldn't bank on it happening. House of the Dragon isn't expected to return to HBO until 2024, and with Olsen busy with other projects - including starring as the Scarlet Witch in the MCU - we wouldn't bank on her having time to add the Game of Thrones franchise to her already impressive list of credits
