New details about Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 could arrive as early as next week.
Paramount+ has confirmed it’s heading to CCXP in Mexico City later this month, where it will host a Strange New Worlds panel. Scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, the panel will feature cast members Paul Wesley (James T. Kirk), Celia Rose Gooding (Uhura), Rebecca Romijn (Una Chin Riley), and Ethan Peck (Spock).
It’s unclear exactly what will be revealed, but there’s reason to hope for a Season 4 update. While a new trailer or clip would be exciting, most of us are focused primarily on one thing, a premiere date.
Paramount+ has yet to announce a release date for Season 4, despite production having wrapped filming in late August 2025. Last month, co-showrunner Henry Alonso Myers said the series will return “later this year,” noting that the release timing should remain consistent with previous seasons.
“We’ve been very consistent in the time of year when we come out, and we’re going to be consistent again this year,” he said. “We’ve been told a window, so that’s where we’re going to be. I would say late summer—but take that as a guess, not a locked date.”
The timing of the CCXP panel isn’t just a coincidence, it fits the established Paramount+ playbook for the series. Historically, the studio has used late spring to plant the flag for a summer return.
Last year, the Season 3 premiere date was officially revealed in May, leading to a July 17 launch. With the CCXP panel landing in late April, the timing lines up perfectly for a Season 4 announcement that could arrive even earlier than previous years.
This consistent release cycle further supports a summer window. Season 1 premiered in May, Season 2 followed in June, and Season 3 arrived in July. Following that trajectory, a Season 4 debut between July and September is the most logical outcome.
While co-showrunner Henry Alonso Myers has cautioned that "late summer" is currently a guess rather than a locked date, the move to host a major panel in April suggests the studio is ready to firm up the calendar. At the very least, fans should expect a high-energy clip at the event, with an official date announcement following shortly after to kick off the summer marketing push.
The last time we saw Strange New Worlds footage was at New York Comic Con 2025, where Paramount+ shared an exclusive Season 4 clip. The studio has also confirmed that the show’s experimental storytelling will continue, including an episode that reimagines the U.S.S. Enterprise crew as puppets created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.
Season 4 will serve as the penultimate chapter of Strange New Worlds, which is set to end with a shortened fifth season. Filming on the final season wrapped last December, and CBS has reportedly begun dismantling sets for both Strange New Worlds and Starfleet Academy (which will conclude after its already-filmed second season). While two seasons remain, Season 5 will consist of just six episodes.
What comes next for the franchise remains unclear. There have been talks of a potential spin-off, Year One, centered on Paul Wesley’s James T. Kirk during his first year as captain of the Enterprise. And though his appearance at CCPX could indicate further plans for the actor, those prospects appear less certain following reports that the Strange New Worlds sets are being torn down.
While new footage or updates at CCXP seem likely, it would also be a great opportunity for Paramount+ to offer a glimpse at what’s next for the franchise.
